Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
What
is a Simulator ?
May I
draw the part that
I am going to
simulate ?
May I draw the tool and the holder that I going to use ?
In the material remotion, are the angles and the radius as requested ?

?

?
May I

May I download an evaluation copy ?
How can I
acquire it ?
Am I
going to receive a copy of the UniCAM ?
Is
there any special condition to its provision to schools ?
The Simulator is a powerful didactic tool for both who are learning
numerical command machine programming and who are teaching. These persons may
have the CNC in the simulator, because it provides the main numerical command
operating modes, such as: to simulate the block- to- block or automatic program,
visualize the shaft position, increase and decrease the tool motion speed, show
not only the block that is being shaped, but also the next one, etc.
Low investment the simulator allows
the numerical command lathe and milling machine manual programming and there is
no need of acquiring numerical command machines.
For the enterprises that need to train
their operators and programmers of numerical command machines, the Simulator is
the ideal tool, because it shows the tool and part realistic animation, checks a
program in minutes, reduces the tryout machine cost, eliminates the cost with
regard to cleaning, wearing or tool break, as examples.

May I
draw the part that
I am going to
simulate ?
Yes. All the drawing functions, used in the UniCAM, are also included in the
Simulator, but the finished and unfinished profiles you will draw, are used only
to help in the visualization of the tool courses. There will be no geometric
intervention between the tool and the finished profile geometry, as that
existing in the CAM system, but it will be very useful to the manual programming
understanding..
May I draw the
tool and the holder that I going to use ?
Yes. Using the same resources of geometric definitions, you can draw the tool
holder supports, jaws, counterpoint, cones, fixing devices and store them in a
database for their use subsequently in other programs.

In the material remotion are the angles and the radius as requested ?
Yes. During the material remotion, what see is exactly what you defined, with
regard to both the insert angle and the radius.
Which functions are simulated ?
The functions used in the Simulator and in the User's Manual were chosen
according to the DIN norms, being adopted the most used norms in numerical
command. The Simulator main objective is to allow you to learn to program any
numerical command machine and by reason of this, the techniques involved in the
program preparation, the functions chosen to generate the program and the manner
to program them were selected in such a way that the learning to program any
other machine be extremely rapid.
Does the system simulate macro instructions ?
Yes. The system simulates fixed cycles and macro
instructions. One and the other exemplify the most common and the most developed
resources adopted by the numerical command manufacturers.
Do I need to make a training to use the Simulator ?
Download the tutorials and follow the instructions step by step. This is
enough to learn to use the Simulator. At the end of the tutorial, you will
already know to use the Simulator, although you have not yet learned to program.
May
I watch a Simulator video ?
YES. Download the file below to a directory in your computer and run it..

Am I going to
receive a UniCAM copy ?
Yes. GHL will grant a license to the
use of didactic copies, without warranty. The copies without warranty meet
perfectly the teaching, learning and program production requirements in other
stations. They allow the UniCAM use in almost its totality, saving program,
simulating machining inclusive, etc.
