If you intend to buy a
numerical control machine, you will need a programing
system.
The UniCAM will help your enterprise to improve your product
quality, program more quickly and solve complex problems easily.
The objective of answering these
frequent answered questions is due to the fact that, for more than 15 years,
they are asked by potential customers, after obtaining their first CNC machine.
Frequently asked questions:
What are the main differences between the
manual programing and with the UniCAM?
Can I use the UniCAM before the machine arrival?
Can I program dirctly in the CNC?
Can I convert the already made programs to the
machine which is being acquird?
Can I use the UniCAM
to facilitate the budget making?
I make serial parts. Do I need acquire the
UniCAM?
What are
the
main differences between the manual programing and with the UniCAM?
With the manual programing and without a transmission system, the programer must:
1- make manualy all the calculus referring to the tool positions (errors in this
phase will only be seen in the machine).
2 - enter the program in the CNC and in that case, entry errors may occur (errors
in this phase will only be seen during the program test).
3 - test the program step by step (if there are errors, return to step 1 or 2).
In all the 3 phases, the machine is not producing.
The value of these idle hours sum, the UniCAM pays in one month.
With the UniCAM:
1- all the calculi referring to tool positions, tool cut data, program
optimization and machining
realistic visualization are performed by the UniCAM, while the machine is
producing.
2 - drawings errors, rounded values, tolerances, etc are detected and solved by
the UniCAM, still in this phase.
3 - using the data transmission system between the computer and the CNC machine,
in some seconds, the program is transmitted to the CNC machine, without errors.
4 - the test phase in the machine aims to zero the tools, as all the positions
were already seen in the programing phase.

Can I use the UniCAM before the machine arrival ?
Yes, sure. When
the machine is installed, you will already have several programs, ready to
machine. Try out, machining parts that are used by your enterprise.

Can I program directly in the CNC ?
Some numerical commands offer this resource, have several macro instructions and
use readiness. They surely solve simple problems.
But
when programing in an industrial environment, with the programer exposed to
noise, not well installed, the result is catastrophic.
The
loss of attention, inherent in the environment, leads to reading and design
interpretation errors, difficults the acquisition of cut data concerning the
tool and material, causing errors in the part, collision risk and as a result,
the machine comes to a stop during this process.

Can
I convert the already made programs to the machine which is being acquired ?
If
you are going to use the manual programing, it is better
not to try
to convert
them, since the conversion will be hardly performed. You should make the program
again.
With the UniCAM, besides the program generation standardization, the programs
designed for a machine serve any other machine, independent of manufacturer and
CNC. The conversion is made by the post-processor, preventing the programer from
studying another language, with a time loss.
The machine begins to produce immediately after its installation.

Can I
use the UniCAM to facilitate the budget making ?
Yes. The
generation of a manufacturing process in the UniCAM is very rapid. The system
calculates the machining time of each tool and the total time.
You
can valuate, take notes and print a document. If the order is approved, the
programs will be ready.

I make serial parts. Do I need acquire the UniCAM
?
No. If you
utilize a few programs in your machine, there is no need for you to acquire a
programing system. In that case, ask your machine manufacturer to provide the
already made programs for you or use an UniCAM temporary license and make your
programs without any cost.
