O The bidimensional milling module (2 1/2 axes) performs machinings of one or more profiles or splines with incremental passes relative to the Z axis, roughing or contouring the profiles with offset and/or CNC machine corrector.
It permits to perform millings by levels (typical machining in molds), obtained from the definition of a profile in the XY plan and a profile in the orthogonal plan (Z profile).
The pocket milling (pocketing) with its complex geometry and an ilimited number of islands, inclusive, can be performed with parallel or concentrical passes, generating automatically points for the hole performance, as a guide, when necessary.
Operations with center, helicoidally and male drill, reamer, mandrel bar, etc., can be performed in points and/or point set..

It still permits the user to create your own macro instructions, describe and name sub-routines, conditional instructions, mathematical functions etc. It performs machinings with the rotatory table, manages the work plan, the type of material, the origin definitions, the part fixing devices, the tool and the tool holder support. It permits the visualization in three dimensions, in four simultaneous views and calculates the machining time.
It makes routine checks on the emptying of cavities or profile contouring, utilizing the new plunger milling machines with hard metal inserts and designed for this type of operation.

Tools defined by the programmer.

Tools required by the system.

During a part program elaboration, it is fundamental the operation sequence, since the same will influence, among other things, in the product final quality. The UniCAM has resources, that in a totally automatic manner, arrange the tools. But, due to a great variety of situations that are found in the mechanical parts, it is necessary to alter this sequence.
The user during the programing does not worry about the order in which a certain tool will perform the operation. In this mode, the UniCAM arranges the tools according to their type, obeying the technological condition and in case of identical tools, they will be arranged in a diameter increasing order.

The user, also, may define the sequence priorities. This system flexibility offers to the user total freedom in the process control.

With the cavity emptying instruction, it is possible to remove material from the interior of a profile, respecting eventual islands, from where any material should be removed. Depending on the cavity geometry and milling machine diameter, after the removal of the material, in the interior of a cavity, mainly in the corners, a certain quantity of material remains and its removal is only possible, using a milling machine with a smaller diameter.
The greatest difficulty to the programer is exactly identify where and which quantity of material was left by the milling machine. With the UniCAM, this becomes totally automatic and it is enough to define which milling machine and which cut process will be used by him.
